The 80-4-10 is a Soder-Wick Rosin desoldering braid with static dissipative (SD) bobbin packaging, designed for safe and efficient solder removal from through-hole components, SMT pads, BGA pads, and other electronic connections. The braid features pure copper construction optimized for faster wicking and superior thermal conductivity at low temperatures, minimizing heat damage to sensitive components and circuit boards. It is available in size 4 with a width of 0.110 inches (2.8 mm) and blue color identification, packaged on static dissipative bobbins in 5 and 10-foot lengths that meet MIL-STD-1686C and MIL-HDBK-263B electrostatic discharge protection standards. The product meets ANSI/IPC J STD-004 Type ROL0 and MIL-F-14256F Type R specifications, with a shelf life of 2 years. Typical usage involves placing the wick on the solder joint with a soldering iron tip set between 600–750°F, allowing the solder to wick into the braid as indicated by color change from copper to silver. This desoldering solution is ideal for rework, repair, and component replacement in industrial electronics manufacturing and maintenance applications.
