DESCRIPTION

SMCJ40A is a Transient Voltage Suppressor Diode designed for surge and ESD protection in portable communications, computing, and video equipment applications. This unidirectional device features a compact SMC (DO-214AB) surface mount package with a working peak reverse voltage of 40 V and a breakdown voltage of 44.4 V. The device delivers 1500 watts of peak pulse power dissipation at 1 ms pulse width, 200 amps peak forward surge current, and operates reliably across a temperature range of -55°C to +150°C. With fast response times of less than 1.0 ns and lead-free, RoHS-compliant construction, the SMCJ40A provides robust protection for sensitive electronic circuits while meeting modern environmental standards.
