DESCRIPTION

SMCJ14CA is a bidirectional transient voltage suppressor diode designed for surge and ESD protection in portable communications, computing, and video equipment. This device features a working peak reverse voltage of 14 V, a breakdown voltage of 15.6 V, and a maximum reverse leakage current of 5 µA at the rated voltage. The diode is housed in a compact SMC (DO-214AB) surface mount package with lead-free termination and RoHS compliance, offering a peak pulse power dissipation of 1500 watts and a steady-state power dissipation of 5.0 watts at 75°C lead temperature. With typical response times of less than 5.0 ns and an operating temperature range of -55°C to +150°C, the SMCJ14CA provides reliable protection against transient voltage events in demanding applications requiring fast clamping action and high surge current handling.
