DESCRIPTION

SMBJ70A is a unidirectional transient voltage suppressor diode designed for surge and ESD protection in compact surface-mount applications. This device features a working peak reverse voltage (V_RWM) of 70V with a breakdown voltage range of 77.8V to 86.0V, providing reliable overvoltage clamping. The diode exhibits a maximum clamping voltage of 113V at 10A and a maximum peak current capability of 5.3A, with fast response times typical of the SMBJ series. The SMBJ70A is housed in the DO-214AA (SMB) surface-mount package and is RoHS compliant, making it ideal for protecting sensitive electronics in portable communications, computing, and video equipment from transient voltage events including ESD (IEC 61000-4-2), electrical fast transients (IEC 61000-4-4), and surge conditions (IEC 61000-4-5).
