DESCRIPTION

SMBJ54CA is a bidirectional transient voltage suppressor diode designed for surge and ESD protection in portable communications, computing, and video equipment. This device features a working peak reverse voltage of 54 V, a breakdown voltage range of 64.4 V to 71.2 V, and is housed in a compact DO-214AA (SMB) surface mount package. The diode exhibits fast response times of less than 5.0 picoseconds and provides voltage clamping at 87.1 V with a maximum peak current capability of 7.3 A and clamping current of 112.2 A. With 600 watts of power dissipation capability and RoHS compliance, the SMBJ54CA is ideal for protecting sensitive circuits against transient overvoltage events in accordance with IEC 61000-4-2 (ESD), IEC 61000-4-4 (EFT), and IEC 61000-4-5 (Surge) standards.
