DESCRIPTION

SMBJ43CA is a bidirectional transient voltage suppressor diode designed for surge and ESD protection in compact surface-mount applications. This device features a working peak reverse voltage of 43 V, with a breakdown voltage range of 47.8 V to 52.8 V, and is housed in the DO-214AA (SMB) package format. The diode exhibits fast response times of less than 5.0 picoseconds and provides voltage clamping at 72.4 V with a maximum peak current rating of 8.7 A and maximum clamping current of 90.2 A. With 600 watts of power dissipation capability and RoHS compliance, the SMBJ43CA is ideal for protecting portable communications, computing, and video equipment against transient overvoltage events including ESD (IEC 61000-4-2), electrical fast transients (IEC 61000-4-4), and surge conditions (IEC 61000-4-5).
