DESCRIPTION

The SMAJ48A is a unidirectional transient voltage suppressor diode designed for surge and ESD protection applications in compact surface-mount SMA (DO-214AC) package format. It features a working peak reverse voltage of 48V with a breakdown voltage range of 53.3V to 58.9V, and delivers 400 watts peak pulse power dissipation at 1 ms pulse width. The device exhibits fast response times of less than 1.0 picoseconds and operates reliably across a temperature range of -55°C to +150°C. With steady-state power dissipation of 1.0 watt at 75°C lead temperature and maximum clamping voltage of 77.4V at 5.2A, the SMAJ48A is ideal for protecting portable communications, computing, and video equipment against transient overvoltage events including ESD (IEC 61000-4-2), electrical fast transients (IEC 61000-4-4), and surge conditions (IEC 61000-4-5).
