DESCRIPTION

PEC12R-4217F-N0024 is a 12 mm incremental rotary encoder designed for level control, tuning, and timer settings in audio-visual equipment, consumer appliances, and musical instrumentation. The encoder features a horizontal mount configuration with axial printed circuit board pins and no bushing, providing a compact design with 24 pulses per 360° rotation and 2-bit quadrature output. It operates continuously with a maximum RPM of 100, contact bounce of 2.0 ms maximum at 15 RPM, and contact rating of 10 mA at 5 VDC. The device includes a momentary push switch option with 0.5 ± 0.3 mm switch travel and 610 ± 306 gf actuation force, along with mechanical specifications including 360° continuous rotation, detent torque of 0.30 to 90 gf-cm, and running torque of 0.10 to 70 gf-cm. Environmental performance is ensured across an operating temperature range of -30°C to +70°C, with 30,000 minimum rotational cycles and 20,000 minimum switch cycles, making it suitable for demanding professional audio and consumer applications requiring reliable, long-life operation.
