DESCRIPTION

CG0402MLE-18G is a ChipGuard MLE Series varistor ESD clamp protector designed to provide high-frequency attenuation and ESD suppression in a single compact device. It features a continuous operating voltage of 12 V DC (8.5 V rms maximum), a clamping voltage of 18 V, and withstands peak surge currents of 15 A (8/20 µs) and 30 A at 8 kV. The device offers low capacitance of 1 pF at 1 Vrms and 1 MHz, with off-state leakage currents ranging from 0.3 µA to 10 µA across voltage levels, ensuring minimal load impact. Housed in an industry-standard 0402 leadless surface mount package with dimensions of 1.00 mm × 0.50 mm, it operates reliably across -55°C to +125°C and responds in less than 1 nanosecond. This device is ideal for protecting sensitive electronics in portable devices, data communication equipment, and consumer electronics requiring IEC 61000-4-2 Level 4 ESD protection.
