DESCRIPTION

The NPS48-M is a 48 V, 40 W open-frame AC-DC power supply from Advanced Energy's Artesyn NPS40-M series, designed for information technology equipment (ITE) and light industrial systems, as well as low-power medical, dental, and laboratory applications. It features universal AC input (90–264 VAC, 47–63 Hz), a typical full-load efficiency of 87%, and no-load power consumption of less than 300 mW. The unit provides a maximum output power of 0.94 A with convection cooling and 1.25 A with 200 LFM forced air, with ±2% output regulation and 480 mV peak-to-peak ripple. It includes dual AC fuses, remote sense capability with 0.5 V lead drop compensation, overload and short-circuit protection, and an integrated EMI filter (CISPR 22 Class B). The NPS48-M operates from 0°C to 80°C ambient temperature, features a compact 2" × 4" footprint with less than 1U height, and holds medical and ITE safety certifications including UL 60950-1, UL 60601-1, and IEC 62368-1, making it ideal for mission-critical applications requiring high reliability and compliance.
