DESCRIPTION

The DS1200-3 is a 1200 W distributed power system AC-DC bulk front-end power supply designed for high-density applications in a compact 1U x 2U rack-mounting form factor. It accepts a wide input voltage range of 90 to 264 VAC (1200 W at 180–264 VAC, 1000 W at 90–180 VAC) at 47–63 Hz single-phase AC, delivering a main 12 V output at up to 100 A (high line) with a 3.3 V standby output at 6 A. The unit achieves greater than 91% efficiency at high line 50% load with a power factor of 0.99 typical, and features active power factor correction, EN61000-3-2 harmonic compliance, and active AC inrush control with a maximum inrush current of 40 A peak. Key technical characteristics include ±5% regulation on both main and standby outputs, 120 mV output ripple peak-to-peak, 12 ms minimum hold-up time, and full digital control with PMBus compliance and I²C communication interface. The power supply supports hot plug operation, N+1 redundancy with internal OR'ing FETs, active current sharing from 10 to 100% load, and operates over an ambient temperature range of -10°C to +50°C with an MTBF of 500K hours at full load and 25°C. This design is ideal for servers and space-constrained applications requiring high power density (21.71 W/in³) with advanced monitoring, control, and redundancy capabilities.
