DESCRIPTION

The 1857-WV005 is a single-conductor hookup wire manufactured by Alpha Wire, designed for general-purpose electrical connections in applications requiring reliable insulation and voltage performance. It features an 18 AWG tinned copper conductor (7/26 stranding) with a nominal 0.010" wall PVC insulation, providing an outer diameter of 0.068" ± 0.002". The wire is rated for 600 V RMS at temperatures up to 105°C and complies with military specification MIL-W-16878E/1, with a temperature operating range of -55°C to 105°C. Key mechanical properties include a maximum pull tension of 13.9 lbs and a bend radius of 10 times the cable diameter, while electrical characteristics include a conductor DC resistance of 6.3 O/1000ft at 20°C and inductance of 0.04 µH/ft.
