DESCRIPTION

The 24-1X15FT is an all-metal, open-weave electrical shielding tape designed to provide shielding for cable joints and terminations. Constructed from two No. 36 AWG tinned copper wires, it features a thickness of 0.016 inches, a breaking strength of 22 lbs./in., and can elongate up to 70% to conform to uneven surfaces. The tape is fire-resistant, corrosion-resistant, and unaffected by solvents, UV, ozone, and moisture. Common applications include continuing electrostatic shielding on shielded power cables, making the conductive portion of stress cones, and smoothing connector areas in oil-filled cables for indoor and outdoor use.
