DESCRIPTION
The 89110-0101 is a 3M IDC ribbon cable socket designed for .050" pitch ribbon cable termination in the 891 Series connector family. It features preassembled phosphor bronze contacts with 50 µ" nickel underplating and 30 µ" gold wiping area, accommodating 26 and 28 AWG stranded wire. The socket body is constructed from glass-filled polyester (PBT) with UL 94V-0 flammability rating and includes dual polarization slots with optional centerbump keying. It supports contact quantities from 8 to 60 positions with a double-recessed cover design allowing cable termination from either side, and features optional double-sided adhesive pull tabs for easy unplugging. The connector is rated for -55 °C to +105 °C operation with 1,000 V RMS withstanding voltage and insulation resistance exceeding 1 × 10? O at 500 V, making it suitable for manual and semi-automatic assembly applications in industrial and telecommunications equipment.
