DESCRIPTION
The 4848-6000-CP is a 3M DIP socket from the 4800 Series, featuring stamped and formed dual-wipe contacts designed for reliable termination of integrated circuits. It utilizes phosphor bronze contacts with nickel underplating (35 µ" minimum) and matte tin surface plating (135 µ" minimum), providing excellent electrical performance and corrosion resistance. The socket accommodates pin diameters of 0.010" to 0.011" (0.25 mm to 0.27 mm) with insertion and withdrawal forces of 340 grams maximum and 80 grams minimum per contact, respectively. Electrical specifications include a 1 A current rating, 5,000 MO insulation resistance at 500 V DC, and 100 V AC withstanding voltage for 1 minute. The socket operates over a temperature range of -25°C to +85°C and is suitable for wave solder processes up to 260°C maximum. Its side and end stackable design, combined with automatic insertion compatibility, makes it ideal for high-volume PCB assembly applications requiring reliable DIP package termination.
