DESCRIPTION

405K100CS4 is a Type CS (Capstick®) metallized polymer network capacitor designed for low ESR/ESL requirements in DC-DC converters and switching power supply applications. This 4.0 µF, 100 Vdc capacitor features an ESR of 0.007 O at 500 kHz and supports an RMS current of 11.5 A at 500 kHz, delivering high ripple current capability in a compact package. The device employs a multilayer metallized polymer dielectric construction with a non-inductive, non-polar design, achieving a total self-inductance of less than 4 nH typical. Operating over a temperature range of -55°C to +125°C with 50% voltage derating above 85°C, it features a capacitance tolerance of ±10%, dissipation factor of =1.0% at 1 kHz, and insulation resistance of =1000 MO·µF. The capacitor is available with straight pins on 0.10" (2.54 mm) centers for through-hole mounting or gull wing leads for surface mount assembly, encapsulated in a rugged conformal coating that meets UL94V-0, making it ideal for high-reliability power conversion applications requiring minimal ESR and ESL.
